How To Choose The Perfect Diamond Ring Design

With millions of different designs of diamond rings available in the market, it is hard to choose the perfect design that would fit your lifestyle and preference. Here are some basic tips that can help you in your search.

1. Take note of your budget

Before setting your hungry sight on the perfect diamond ring, make sure first that you have the budget to purchase it. The amount that you are willing to spend will actually determine the range of products that you will choose from. Your budget will actually help you narrow down your options.

2. Look at different stores

Do not just go to one store. Window shop. Ask for prices and specifications. Don’t be shy to do this. A diamond ring is not something that you just buy on a whim (except of course if you are a Paris Hilton incarnate and you just have tons of money to spare!). Clerks in stores will understand this as they too will not be buying diamond rings without studying every aspect of it.

3. Look at the properties

Remember too that in buying diamonds, you don’t just look at the designs but also the properties like the clarity, the carat, the color and the cut. This will largely determine the price of the diamond that you will be buying. Often, stores will have some sort of record of the properties of each diamond ring that they have on display. Ask the clerk about this.

To give you a rundown of the properties, here they are. Clarity refers to the clearness of the gemstone. This will include the imperfections, the haziness as well as the brilliance. The color as the name suggests refers to the color. Some diamonds are yellowish in color. These are the less expensive ones. The carat refers to the size and the weight of the diamond while the cut refers to the way the diamond is cut to enhance its brilliance. Popular choices are the princess cut and the emerald cut.

4. Try it on.

Never be shy to try as many as you can. There are no rules against trying diamond rings in the store. Sometimes, a diamond ring may seem pretty under the display case but when you try it on, the design does not fit the overall look of your hands. Before buying, make sure that you have tried on at least a dozen different designs.

This has been a great search to find this particular pave ring.  I find it to be particularly striking.  While this diamond engagement ring gives an aire of sophistication and high brow it also dances with the trendy up and comers.

Subtly coated in pave diamond along the ring and split edge portion, this split edge diamond ring setting, also has 9 pave diamond on both sides of the crown.

On this articular ring the diamond I have selected is a round brilliant diamond with 1.20 carats, g color and vs1 clarity.  To put it in layman’s terms it would categorize in the medium range to medium high range as far as the grading characteristics go.

What does this mean to you?  Good enough diamond clarity, color and cut that can be proudly flaunted without paying the big price tag.

I felt it was important for everyone to see that it is not imperative for you to dive into purchasing a diamond ring with top notch credentials. And that it IS perfectly safe and acceptable to buy diamond engagement ring at a lower price point while still achieving great sparkle, brilliance, and fire power.

However you choose to gift it, this diamond pave ring is very special because it is one of ONLY 50 pieces produced worldwide. Inspired by the art deco period,  each piece is engraved with a serial number, Peter Lam’s signature and a certificate of authenticity.

Designed by Peter Lam it is a unique piece with 1 carats in diamonds where the main diamond is extravagantly framed by pave diamonds.  This gives the illusion of sparkle shine and brilliance.
